Reigning Ceredigion Bowling Association champions Cardigan made a bright start to the season with a 14-point Carruthers Shield win over last season’s runners-up Lampeter on their opponents’ Rookery green.
Rink scores (Lampeter names first): Henry Jones 22 Andrew Clark 17; Lewis Williams 12 Kevin James 33; Nick Randall 11 Paul Monders 17; Steve Entwistle 21 Paul Edwards 15
The top Cardigan rink was skipped by Welsh International Kevin James and also included his elder brother Colin, Mike Williams and Chris Rogers.
