Given that these are very early days and there is a long way to go during the cricket season Llechryd have made a bright start in Division Two of the Pembroke County League with two wins from as many starts.

It was a bit of a stroll for the Teifisiders against early basement boys Johnston at the RDM Oval and there are sure to be far sterner tests ahead.

As the visitors were bowled out for 66 opener Chris Goodridge (25) and Josh Hicks (26) accounted for the majority of their runs.

Skipper John Curran, Peter and James Betterley were the main wicket takers and as the homesters bolted to 67-1 and picked up a maximum haul of 30 points in a nine-wicket win the captain was again to the fore with a fine innings of 42.

It was also a good day for Llechryd 2nds in Division Four with a seven-wicket win over Haverfordwest 4ths in the county town.

In the Haverfordwest total of 109 Richard Davies was top scorer with 33 and in the Llechryd reply opener Oliver Roberts led the way with an unbeaten half century.

Also in the fourth division Crymych lost by 31 runs in a low-scoring game against St Ishmaels 2nds.

St Ishmaels were dismissed for 80 as Rhodri Thomas picked up three wickets and in reply Crymych were bowled out for a paltry total of 49.
