A young swimmer from the Cardigan area who has established himself as part of the Swim Wales elite squad has broken world and other records.
Rhys Davies, aged 17, of Llangoedmor, who recently spent a fortnight with the Welsh squad in warm weather training in Thailand, broke the records at the West Wales Regional Championships in Haverfordwest.
He set a 210 metres backstroke British record and the time was also a INAS European and world 200 metres backstroke record, subject to ratification.
There was more success for the teenager at the weekend when breaking the British SM14 400 metres individual medley record at Haverfordwest.
