There are celebrations in Cardigan pool circles after a local player became the first in nearly four decades to gain international honours after Lee Davies was selected to play for Wales.
The 28-year-old carpenter from Llechryd, who is a member of the Cardigan Rugby Club pool team, took part in trials involving 64 players.
A delighted Davies said: “I couldn’t pot a ball during practice sessions, but when the trials started I got it together and I’m over the moon – chuffed to bits.”
