FOOTBALL ROUND-UP
Felinfach have never won the Costcutter Football League Cup, but the Milkmen are two games away from lifting the trophy after reaching the semi-final stage at the expense of Aberaeron Reserves.
The Aeron Valley confrontation provided an abundance of thrills and spills but despite a valiant effort by the visitors it was Felinfach who deservedly progressed after a 3-0 win.
For Felinfach, who take on Crannog in the semi-final, Lewis Evans netted twice and Joe Jenkins was also on target.
Seven days previously Crannog thumped Llanboidy 6-1 in the J Emrys Morgan Cup, but it was a different scenario at the weekend when the coastal villagers were taken to extra time before emerging 5-4 winners.
Scorers for Crannog were Gary Davies, who bagged a brace, Robbie Evans, George Colven and Rhys Davies – it was 3-3 after the end of 90 minutes.
In the first division Cardigan Town eased relegation worries with a 7-0 win over bottom of the pile Bargod Rangers at King George V Playing Field.
Rangers gave it their best shot and were in contention at the break when trailing by two goals, but the Magpies moved up a gear during the second period and hit five goals without reply.
Iwan Jones stole the limelight with a well-taken hat-trick and the other marksmen were Llion Williams (2), Steff Davies and Josh Mellor.
Dewi Stars were crowned Division Two champions with two games to spare after emerging 4-1 winners over second in the table Aberporth at Llanddewi Brefi.
