Darts star Jamie Lewis of Cardigan is putting in the practice hours in preparation for the William Hill World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace in London later this month.
The 27-year-old, ranked 29th in the Professional Darts Corporation world order of merit caused a sensation in the previous Championship when becoming the first player to reach the semi-finals after entering the competition via a preliminary round event.
Lewis has been drawn against the winner of the round one clash between qualifiers Martin Schindler and Cody Harris.
Schindler, aged 22, and from Strausberg in Germany, is ranked 48th in the world while 33-year-old Harris from New Zealand is number 154.
The Championship offers prize money of £2,500,000 and starts on Thursday, December 13, with the final on New Year’s Day.
