The A40 was closed in both directions following an accident involving two cars yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the crash near Treffgarne junction at 3.42pm.

Both fire appliances from Haverfordwest were called to the scene and firefighters freed a casualty from a vehicle.

Police and ambulance crews were also at the scene.

The road was closed both ways with traffic is queuing from Treffgarne junction to The Corner Piece Inn.

A police spokesperson said officers were called at 3.29pm to two-vehicle collision on the Haverfordwest to Wolfscastle road, just outside Treffgarne.

"Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries," said the spokesperson.

"The road was closed until 6.30pm to allow the fire service to be able to cut the roof off one of the vehicles, and allowed the injured driver to be safely removed."
