VIDEO footage of a kayaker being rescued from the sea after his boat collapsed has been shared by the RNLI.
St Davids RNLI all-weather lifeboat Norah Wortley was launched at 11.48am on Saturday, May 11, to a kayaker reportedly in the water.
The Coastguard had called the RNLI after the kayaker was seen from the coastal path hanging on to the sea kayak approximately five miles north of the station off the coast of Traeth Llyn beach.
The all-weather lifeboat arrived 15 minutes after the launching and located the casualty who had already been in the water for at least 40 minutes.
The volunteer crew brought him on board and administered casualty care, treating him for hypothermia and possible secondary drowning.
Once stabilised and in warm dry clothing it was decided to return the casualty to the lifeboat station for further monitoring.
After a period of monitoring it was decided he was fit to leave and was dropped back at his campsite.
