A woman was left needing three operations on her nose after she was head-butted in a Tenby pub.

Leigh Marie Jones, of Portland Street, Abertillery, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm when she appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, April 30.

Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, showed the court CCTV footage of the assault on February 10, 2018.

He said: “It is not entirely clear exactly why this incident happened, but there appears to have been cross words between the complainant and the defendant shortly before this.”

The court heard that Jones, 29, was initially held back by a man and another attempted to block her before she walked towards the victim.

Mr Pritchard-Jones said: “Two men try to stop this woman doing what she is intent on doing.

“When they move away she walks down there, looks the woman straight in the face and head-butts her.”

The victim underwent an operation for a ‘significant injury’ and would require a further two surgeries on her nose.

John Allchurch, defending, handed the bench character references and a letter from Jones, a beauty salon manager, expressing her regret and remorse.

A victim impact statement read to the court, stated that the victim was still affected by the assault 13 months later.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction and Jones will next appear at Swansea crown court on May 17.

She was released on unconditional bail in the meantime.
