Police found Class B drugs in a Haverfordwest man’s bedroom, a court has heard.

Paul George Roberts, of Gerald Road, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and amphetamine when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on April 30.

Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said police executed a warrant at a Haverfordwest house of multiple occupation on April 6.

Officers found 13grams of amphetamine and 0.5 grams of cannabis when they searched Roberts’ bedroom.

Mr Pritchard-Jones said: “He admitted that they were his and for his personal use. He said he paid a couple of quid for the cannabis and £130 for the amphetamine.”

Tom Lloyd, defending, said a small amount of drugs were found, adding that Roberts, 39, was a recovering alcoholic.

“He has not drunk for a number of years, but it’s something that has crippled his life. To a small extent he has replaced that with recreational drugs.”

Mr Lloyd added that things had improved for Roberts over the last few years, as he was in a stable relationship and had secured accommodation.

Magistrates fined Roberts £80 for each offence and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £35 surcharge.
