POLICE are warning of potential traffic delays near the Cleddau Bridge this week as more heavy loads from the former Murco refinery, Milford Haven, are shipped abroad.
Parts of the former refinery were moved over the Cleddau Bridge to Pembroke Dock’s Port of Pembroke today, February 11.
The heavy loads were moved along the A477, including the Cleddau Bridge.
The Murco refinery, which employed around 600 people at one time, closed in November 2014.
It was purchased and turned into a storage facility in 2015, safeguarding some jobs, and is now operated by Puma Energy.
The refinery is now being decommissioned; and is in the process of being shipped to Pakistan to be rebuilt.
Posting on Twitter, Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Unit wrote: “First of a number of abnormal load escorts from the Puma refinery to Pembroke Dock this week. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.”
