SAUNDERSFOOT Harbour commissioners have donated nearly £400, to charity, raised from parking charges at the village’s 35th New Year’s Day Swim.

The charges raised £385.80.

Bradley Davies, commercial manager, said: “This year we saw over 2,100 people take to the water wearing fancy dress on New Year's Day morning as they took part in the 35th annual New Year's Day Swim.

“Everybody here at Saundersfoot Harbour always looks forward to helping with the New Year’s Day Swim and with this year’s theme, transformed Saundersfoot into a sea of yellow in celebration of Geraint Thomas winning Le Tour de France.

“The Saundersfoot Harbour Commissioners have donated 100 per cent of the car park takings to the swim charity, as they have done in previous years.

“So remember, please remember, when you bought your car parking ticket to watch the swim, you have helped to make a difference.”
