A PEMBROKESHIRE musician who made global headlines last year after releasing #metoo anthem, Mr Weinstein will See You Now, with cult American artist Amanda Palmer, is seeking sponsorship for her breakout album.

Jasmine Power, who grew up in north Pembrokeshire, spent months in Nashville and New York last year writing and recording her debut album.

Her first single The Verge of the Unknown, which was co-written with two American hit songwriters in Nashville, has a UK release date for late-January. The plan is then to release the remaining singles for the duration of 2019.

Jasmine's debut EP, Stories and Rhymes, was released to great acclaim in 2016, with airplay and appearances on BBC radio with Jamie Cullum and "taste maker" Giles Peterson.

For her debut album the singer and songwriter has secured the backing of a highly renowned UK radio team.

However, as she has chosen not to sign to a record label yet, in order to maintain creative independence and control, she is seeking sponsorship to help market the album.

"I can't wait to get my songs out into the world, and the New Year's music season starts mid-January," said Jasmine.

"But I somehow need to raise £13,000 to begin the promotion – it's all about the marketing and it's a startlingly expensive business."

The total of marketing the album will be around £25,000 which will include mastering the album, producing three music videos, photo shoots, a four-month radio campaign and a PR/ marketing campaign.

"My radio team's all set to go - one of the best out there who helped many artists break through including David Bowie, Queen, Jools Holland and Sinead O'Connor," she said.

"They believe I'm going to be a 'unique breakthrough artist'. I also have a strong team of eleven people behind me who are generously giving up their time and energy for free because they believe in me."

The sponsorship is solely for the promotion of the album and sponsors will receive a signed copy of the LP after production, along with any merchandise, two guest tickets to any of Jasmine's debut album shows and acknowledgement as a sponsor on her website, as well as regular updates on her progress and invitations to private events.

Sponsors who can offer £1000 or more will be treated to a showcase of Jasmine's songs at their home or business.

"I am seeking people who believe in me and wish to support a unique and independent Welsh artist and songwriter who's on the edge of breaking through," said Jasmine.

"The PR campaign is the final stage and such an important part. I would be forever grateful to those who support me at this time."
