SPRINTING Santas had over £1,000 wrapped up for charity in Tenby on Sunday.

The red-coated runners of all ages were taking part in the town's annual Santa Run.

More than 80 adults covered the three kilometre fun run round the town and harbour, while junior Santas enjoyed a 500m street circuit.

All entrants got to keep their Santa suits, as well as a medal (sponsored by Blueberry's Café, Tenby).

The event was hosted by Tenby Round Table, whose chairman, Dan Cope, said: "We had a good turn-out of competitors, and thankfully the weather was kind to us."

Dan thanked all the run's volunteers and the Tenby Round Table sub-committee of Joost Geertman, Ieuan Rowell, Matt Broadhurst and Ed Spence, who organised the event.

He added: "We're delighted to announced that this year, the event looks to have made over £1,000, which we will donate to local charities and causes."
