CAREW Women’s Institute, celebrating its milestone 100th year, recently held a celebratory church service and a coffee morning, with donations in aid of Paul Sartori.

The WI raised £265 for the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home Service, which provides a range of services to Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness.

Paula Ralph, a member of Carew WI worked very hard to try and secure Lottery Funding for their 100th birthday celebrations.

In November 2017 Paula wrote on Facebook: “We have received Lottery funding to celebrate our 100 years, which we will now do in style; here's to the next 100 years.”

Sandra Dade, Paul Sartori charity manager said: “We are so grateful to the Carew Women’s Institute for choosing Paul Sartori Hospice at Home as one of their charities this year.”

Women’s Institue was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War.

Sandy Stark, management registered nurse at Paul Sartori Hospice at Home said: “It is through the generosity of local groups like the WI that we can continue to provide this much-needed service, which is available free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
