Class B drugs cost a Milford Haven man £270 more than their street value.
Terrence Christopher Watts, of Coombes Drive, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and amphetamine when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, October 9.
Sian Vaughan, prosecuting, told the bench that 0.3grams of cannabis and 0.21grams of amphetamine were discovered when a warrant was executed at Watts’ home on May 25.
The drugs had an estimated total street value of £5.09.
The court heard that Watts, 55, had a history of drug related offending, and was subject to a community order.
Katy Hanson, defending, said a very small amount of drugs was found, and the amphetamine, was old and had been forgotten about in a cupboard.
“He suffers from significant back trouble and arthritis, and takes cannabis to help with the pain. He now takes morphine.”
Miss Hanson added: “He realises that it is illegal and apologises to the court.”
Magistrates fined Watts £80 for each offence and ordered him to pay £85 costs plus a £30 surcharge.
A destruction order was made for the seized drugs.
