Great British Bake Off contestants James, Kevin and Sandro have been labelled the favourites to win the 2022 iteration of the programme ahead of it starting today.

They all have 6/1 odds from the betting company William Hill, as the programme begins today (Tuesday, September 13) at 8pm on Channel 4.

The show has become somewhat of a staple in the viewing habits of many households in the UK over the past few years, and anticipation for the new series has been high.

Behind the main trio in the odds there is Will and Abdul who are on 7/1 odds to go all the way, whilst Syabira is on 8/1 and Dawn and Maisam are on 9/1.

For those who William Hill suspect as least likely to come out on top are Maxy and Rebs at 10/1 and Janusz and Carole at 11/1.

William Hill spokesperson, Tony Kenny, said: “The Great British Bake Off is one of the nation’s favourite shows and we’ve got another bunch of aspiring bakers gunning for the grand prize.

“We obviously don’t know too much about them at this stage, but the trio which our traders think have the best chance are James, Kevin and Sandro, who are all priced at 6/1.”
