Two men and a woman are to appear at Swansea Crown Court next Friday in a sex case involving a young boy at Llandysul.

Brian James Eccleston aged 31, of Derwydd, 2 Cilgwyn Row, Wind Street, Llandysul, 30-year-old Emmanie Louise Angela Hughes of the same address and Peter Sweetman aged 31, Flat 4 Cawdor House, Cawdor Terrace, Newcastle Emlyn, all represented by Katy Hanson, appeared at Ceredigion Magistrates Court.

The two men were both charged that between February 10 and February 13 last year they incited a 13-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity contrary to the Sexual Offenders Act.

Hughes was accused of having sex with the boy.

The charges are indictable only and at the invitation of Crown prosecutor Jackie Lis the magistrates remanded the three to appear at the crown court next Friday for a preliminary hearing. No pleas were entered.

Presiding magistrate Lodwick Davies gave Sweetman a telling off for chewing gum during the hearing.

“You should show some respect for the court. If the judge at the crown court sees you chewing gum he is likely to come down hard on you,” he said.
