A Ceredigion County Council environmental health officer visiting a farm near Cardigan was allegedly assaulted and verbally abused by the farmer and his elderly father, a court has been told.
Following the alleged incident at Hafod Farm, Ponthirwaun on June 13 last year 71-year-old Thomas Lynn Jones was charged with common assault and his 38-year-old son Phillip John Jones was charged with using disorderly conduct. Both have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
When he appeared before magistrates Jones junior of Hafod Farm had the case against him adjourned for trial on April 4.
The case against Thomas Lynn Jones of Bryn Teg, Henbwlch Road, Newchurch, Carmarthen, who was not in court, was adjourned for a pre-trial review on March 19. The defendants had their unconditional bail renewed.
