A 60-acre woodland in Ceredigion has been given a Green Flag Community Award.
A Green Flag Community Award has been given to Coed Y Bont.
The award is helmed as the international mark of quality for parks and green spaces.
This news comes as 199 community-managed green spaces across Wales met the high standards assessed by Keep Wales Tidy to receive the award.
Coed Y Bont, in Pontrhydfendigaid, claimed the award for its high environmental standards, cleanliness, safety, and active community involvement.
Chris Harris, chairperson of Coed Y Bont Community Woodland Committee, said: "The Green Flag Community Award provides us with recognition that further helps us to connect as a group, with the local community and beyond.
"You know that when you visit Coed Y Bont you are visiting an exceptional place."
The woodland has been nurtured by a partnership between Coed Y Bont Community Woodland Committee and Natural Resources Wales, who have successfully carried out numerous funding projects and won several awards including the Green Flag Community Award. It was also named as one of the first 14 National Forests of Wales in 2020.
Lucy Prisk, Keep Wales Tidy’s Green Flag coordinator, said: "We’re thrilled to see a new record number of 199 community managed green spaces in Wales have achieved Green Flag status, which is testament to the dedication and hard work of hundreds of volunteers.
"These sites, which play a vital role in the physical and mental well-being of communities across Wales, are now recognised as among the best in the world, having met the high standards required to achieved Green Flag Community status. Congratulations."
