SOUNDS Of Summer – a day of outdoor music at Cardigan’s Prince Charles Quay – returns for the third successive year next week.

Held by Cariad PA hire in conjunction with Cardigan Town Council, the event – initially launched in 2020 as a small project to provide some vibrancy to the town – will be held from 2pm-8pm on Saturday, August 13 and will again showcase some of the finest local musicians including Iestyn Gordon, Lowrie Evans and the Hideaway Trio.

The event’s early start seeks to encourage visitors to visit local shops between sets and its early finish is aimed at allowing people enough time to attend local venues which may be running live music events in the evening.

“It’s a small-scale event, for us locals as much as for anyone else,” said organiser Stephen Greenhalgh.

“It’s always been my hope that that this will become a town-wide event over the coming years.

“I hope to have more time to plan next year, though I encourage every venue willing to join in to host live bands, jamming sessions and even support buskers standing outside.”
