IT took penalties to separate unbeaten Crymych of the Costcutter Ceredigion division one and division two high-flyers Llechryd in their League Cup quarter-final tie at Tegryn, with the Preseli men coming out on top 4-2 in the shoot-out.

Crymych led 2-0 at half time through central midfielder Gethin Evans and Owain Evans, but Dylan Davies, from a free-kick, and John Curran, from the penalty spot, took the tie into into extra time and penalties.

After completion of the Cwpan Coffa Dai Dynamo Davies quarter-finals, three Costcutter Ceredigion League clubs and one from the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth and District League are through to the last four.

Llanboidy sprang a 3-1 win over visitors Felinfach at Cae Dandre, where Gethin Scourfield nudged the west Carmarthenshire side ahead.

The Aeron Valley visitors drew level when Joe Jenkins beat Bleddyn Williams from the penalty spot, but Tomos Rogers regained the lead for Llanboidy, and Jack Haley sealed the win.

Dewi Stars pushed visitors Corris United to the limit, before they ultimately bowed out on penalties, after drawing 1-1.

United went ahead through Morgan Vaughan in the 15th minute but full-of-fight Stars squared matters soon afterwards through Rhodri Edwards.

That's how it remained until after extra time when Corris scraped home 4-3 on penalties.

The visitors, who are currently second in the Aber League, with games in hand on the leaders, were indebted to goalkeeper Gwynfor Williams, who pulled off a series of top-rated stops.

In division one action New Quay went down 3-1 against Cardigan at King George V Playing Field as two goals from Callum Wooley and a James Evans goal secured the points, with Steffan Williams replying.

Lampeter were unable to raise a side to face St Dogmaels, and Llandysul took their annual postponement against Crannog.

Bargod Rangers continued their division two promotion push as goals from Ethan Furness, Chester Powell and Rhydian Davies earned a 3-2 win at Aberaeron Reserves.

George Colven scored twice as Crannog Reserves beat Pencader United 4-2, with Callum Shirt and Cynyr Ifan also netting, with Connor Timms and Gino Russetti scoring the replies.

Meanwhile Matthew Smith, with a brace, and Mike John were on target as Aberporth won 3-1 at Llandysul Reserves, who had scored their goal through Dave Clark.

Adam Williams scored a hat-trick as St Dogmaels Reserves hammered Maesglas 8-1, with further goals from Lewis Williams (2), Osian Thomas (2) and Jason Williams. Wil Williams scored a consolation.

In division three, Max Evans and Lee Evans earned Llechryd Reserves a 2-1 win over Llanboidy Reserves, who scored through Dafydd Wright.
