Cardigan Golf Club’s Turkey Trot competitions continued over the Christmas period, with several golfers picking up the festive prizes.

On Saturday, December 11, some 23 pairs competed in the Red Tee 4 ball better ball pairs stableford event.

The winners with an impressive 49 points were Peter Ward and Terry Hammett. In second place were Martin Roberts and John Rees with 47 points, and Andy Williams and Gordon Cutter came third with 46 points.

On Saturday, December 18, some 14 teams of three entered the yellow tee better ball stableford competition.

The winners on countback with 82 points were Darren Marshall, Gareth Jones and Simon Crossfield. In second place, also with 82 points, were Geoff Snape, Barrie Davies and Peter Merryweather, and in third place with 81 points were Alun Rees, Robin Griffith and Vaughan Jones.

The Seniors’ Section held a Red Tee Christmas Charity Stableford on Thursday 16 December, with 35 entries. The winner with an excellent 45 points was Dave Rout, who was playing off a handicap of 26.

In second place on countback with 44 points was Ian Tushingham playing off 14, and in third place on countback, also with 44 points, was Graham Walker playing off 28. £185 was raised for Cardigan Food Bank.
