CARDIGAN Golf Club held its first Turkey Trot competition on November 27, and on a very difficult day for golf the winning team with a score of 73 stableford points were A Rodda, S Church, J Taylor and V Jones.

In second place with 66 points were M McHugh, W Jenkins, M McArdle, and in third with 64 points were N Davies, M Smith, K. Rose and G Lang.

On Thursday, December 2, there was a good entry of 23 for the Seniors Section Yellow Tee stableford.

In the division one category for handicaps 1-18, the winner was Barrie Davies with 39 points, playing off 15. In second place on countback with 37 points was Owen Jones playing off 9, and in third place, also with 37 was Martin Roberts playing off 17.

In the division two category for handicaps over 18, the winner was Bernie Feenan with 37 points playing off 25. In second place with 35 points was John Rees playing off 29, and in third place was Vernon Lewis with 34 points playing off 20.

The second turkey trot competition was played on Sunday, December 5, with an excellent entry of 34 pairs.

The winners were Keith Rose and Rich Griffiths with 35 points. In second place on countback were Ian Tushingham and Eirian Lewis with 34 points, and in third place, also on countback and also with 34 points, were Cedric Hall and Terry Hammett.

There were 30 entries for the Seniors Section Xmas Fayre Yellow Tee stableford on Thursday, December 9.

The winner with an excellent 39 points was Seniors Captain, Ned Kelly, playing off 17. In second place on countback with 35 points was Vaughan Jones playing off 18, and in third place, also with 35 points, was Bernie Feenan, playing off 25.

Cardigan Golf Club Seniors Section held a yellow tee stableford on Thursday, November 18 and the winner was Steff Jenkins with 36 points playing off 26.

In second place on countback was Graham Walker with 34 points playing off 28, and Owen Jones came third, on countback with 34 points.

On Friday, November 19, the first of three Winter Opens attracted an excellent entry of 19 teams.

The competition was a 4 ball better ball team stableford, and the winning team was I Collis, J Hughes, J Kirkpatrick and D Jenkins (Haverfordwest) with an excellent score of 90 stableford points.

In second place were N Parry, R Cheyney, G Goodhead and G Owens (Clyne) with 88 points, and in third place on countback were N. Cowland, J Fogwill, R Evans and G Jones (Cardigan) with 87 points.

On Sunday, November 21, the Monthly Stableford attracted an entry of 29 playing in a very difficult wind making scoring difficult.

The winner with a good score of 37 points was Lyndsay Morgan playing off 8.

In second place was Meirion Jones with 36 points playing off 8, and in third place was Steve Hurley with 35 points playing off 9.

On Thursday, November 25, the Seniors Section played a 4 Club stableford off the red tees and the winner on countback was Glyn Parry with 41 points playing off 28.

In second place, also with 41 points, was Graham Walker playing off 27, and in third place with 40 points was Bernie Feenan playing off 24.
