COSTCUTTER CEREDIGION LEAGUE

St Dogmaels eased through to the semi-finals of the Costcutter Ceredigion League Cup with a solid 5-1 home win over New Quay at School Field on Saturday.

Fresh from his hat-trick the previous week, Rhys Jones netted twice for the Saints, and the other marksmen were Josh Mellor, Louis Harding and Adam Williams, while Graham Baldwin found the net for New Quay.

Ffostrasol are also through to the last four of the Cup after they produced a fine all-round performance to beat visitors Felinfach 4-1 at Troedrhiw Park.

Lively striker Gethin Davies led the way with two goals, with Steffan Evans, Owen Thomas and Gwynfor Bowen also on target, whilst Ben Davies replied.

League newcomers Llechryd have been firing on all cylinders in division two, but in the Cwpan Coffa Dai Dynamo Davies they went down 2-1 against division one high-flyers Llanboidy.

Goals by prolific marksman Ifan Phillips and John Griffiths, from the penalty spot, sealed the win, with Cory Leonard Davies netting for the homesters.

Meanwhile, division two side Aberporth were holding first division Dewi Stars 1-1 at the interval, before finally crashing to a 6-1 defeat at Penparc.

Kieran James gave the Airmen hope, but the Llanddewi Brefi visitors had netted through Rhodri Evans and the same player netted  a second, before Gethin Thomas, Rhodri Morgan and brothers Twm and Guto Eddsworth also found the back of the net to seal a solid victory.

Crymych meanwhile continued their unbeaten run in the Costcutter Ceredigion League division one with a confident 3-0 away win over Llandysul.

Ollie Evans bagged a brace of goals and Dan Mathias was also on the scoresheet as the Preseli men moved second in the table, within two points of Llanboidy and with a game in hand.

In division two, Bargod Rangers moved into second spot behind runaway Llechryd with a 4-0 win over visitors St Dogmaels Reserves at Parc Puw.
Ethan Furnace netted twice, with Rhydian Davies and Daniel Evans also on the scoresheet.

In the same division newcomers Pencader United continued to find it tough as they were beaten 4-3 at home to visitors Crannog Reserves.

For the coastal villagers, Mike Glover netted twice, along with goals from Daniel Robinson and Ifan-Sion Mason-Evans, whilst Connor Timms, Alfie Morgan and Ben Sears replied.

In division three, Gruffudd Edwards scored twice as Crymych Reserves won 2-1 at Llanboidy Reserves. Philip Petty scored for Felinfach Reserves as they drew 1-1 with Maesglas Reserves, who scored through Adrian West.

Kieran Ellis and Michael Wilcox both scored twice as Ffostrasol Reserves drew 4-4 at Newcastle Emlyn Reserves, with Anthony Macdonald (2), Owain Thomas and Cameron Evans scoring for the hosts.
