St Dogmaels earned the right to visit Powys side St Harmon on Saturday in round one of the J Emrys Morgan Cup after emerging 3-1 winners in a preliminary round tie at Ffostrasol.

It was 1-1 at half time, but the visitors controlled the game for lengthy periods and never looked in any great danger of being knocked out.

Owen Williams hit the first goal for Saints when cutting inside and firing into the top corner, and after the break substitutes Josh Mellor and Jack Thomas made sure of their side’s passage, with Rhys Jones hitting the upright near the end. Sion Rhys Evans had scored an early equaliser for Ffostrasol.

Brecon meanwhile eased to a 3-0 win at home to Bargod Rangers with Nathan Collacott netting twice and Owain Powell-Jones also netting, and goals from Charlie Parr and Dewi Evans earned Bont a 2-0 win against Dewi Stars.

Llanymynech survived a Corris United fightback to celebrate a 3-2 win. Dean Becker netted twice while Daniel Griffiths also struck to give the border side the lead before Dion Kohler netted twice after the break for the Quarrymen.

Ben Pullen netted twice as Trefonen proved too strong for Newcastle with goals from Matthew Evans, Liam Jones and Bradley Bennett completing a 5-1 win while Richard Jones bagged a consolation.

Elsewhere St Harmon edged a 3-2 win at Penybont after the Swifts completed a thrilling fightback.

A Ryan Lawrence own goal gave the Swifts the lead only for Penybont to hit back through Scott Davies and Reiss Kinch but St Harmon were not to be denied as Jeffrey Jones netted twice to seal his side's progress.

In the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League, honours ended even as Aberdyfi hit back for a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Borth United in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League.

Gareth Kelsall-Hughes fired Borth ahead but Ryan Dean levelled for Dyfi after the break.

Meanwhile Llanilar thrashed Padarn United 8-0 with Sion Evans leading the rout with a double while Daniel John, Ryan Hopkins, Rhydian Ap Owen, Osian Simpson-Jones, Ioan Jones and Dylan Evans completed the scoring.
