Hugh Thomas, headteacher at Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn, has congratulated the students on "excellent" results in both their GSCE and A Levels.

Thanking the staff, parents and governing body for their support, he said the school had achieved continued success, despite the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

"The school is extremely pleased to report another set of excellent GCSE and A Level results," said Mr Thomas.

"The consistent success over recent years is a tribute to our hard working students, the support of parents, and the dedication of our excellent staff at Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn."

At GCSE, 27% of the grades awarded were at A* to A, and 79% of grades awarded were at A* - C.

There were many notable individual successes including: Ruth Bramley, Imogen Bridgeman-Wilson, Lucy Davies, Daisy Dentten, Carys Evans, Tayla Freemantle, Florence Gregory Dal-toe, Sean Hesmondalgh, Philippa Johnston, Ruth Maczka, Cerys Maher, Meriel Paget, Sophie Parsons, Rachel Robb, Iona Seymor-Byrne, Alfred Viner and Amy Wilson.

At A Level a total of 19% of grades were A* or A, with 79% of grades at A* - B. 92% of grades were at A* - C.

Notable successes included Selma Cameron (A, A, A, C), Raven Deane (A*, A*, A, B), Andreas Ellis-Hedd (A*, A*, A*, B), Emily Husnjak (A*, A*, A, A, B), Matthew Parsons (A*, A, A, A), Elsie Pennell (A*, A, A, A) and Tom Pickering (A*, A*, A*, A)

At AS Level success included Nadia Davies (A, A, A), Jarrah Farkash (A, A, A, A), Owen Harries (A, A, A), Chantal Morris (A, A, A, B), Jakub Rutkoswki (A, A, A, A), Ella Wilbraham (A, A, A), and Megan Wilson (A, A, A, A)

"The school is very proud of all the students, nearly all of whom have gained a place in their first choice university," added Mr Thomas.

"I would like to congratulate all of our students and express my gratitude to the staff for their hard work and to the parents and the governing body for their support during a challenging time.
