NEW communication boards have been placed in the play park at Cardigan’s King George V playing fields and also at Awel yr Afon, Pentop, Golwg y Castell.
This exciting project, the first of its kind in Wales, is in partnership with Hywel Dda Speech and Language Therapy Department, Ceredigion County Council and Cardigan Town Council.
The purpose of the boards is to make play areas more communication-friendly by allowing those who find social interaction difficult to communicate in a visual way.
Additionally, the bilingual boards also offer an opportunity to teach vocabulary to young children.
Fifteeen such boards have been placed in play parks across the county. Please contact Mererid.davies@wales.nhs.uk for further info.
