LLANDYSUL continued on the winning trail in the South Wales Cricket Association division one with a seven-wicket away win over Llangennech, with the outcome being decided by the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.

Having been put in to bat, Llangennech lost Christopher Hickey for a duck, the opener stumped by Andrew Barrett off Iestyn Evans.

Opening partner Scott Lloyd went on to make 41, which included three boundaries in an innings lasting 131 balls, and James Taube at first wicket down contributed 36, including 5 boundaries.

In the middle order David Williams (22) and Nathan Jones (21) helped to get the homesters to 163 in 46.2 overs.

Ieuan Paske snapped 3 for 11 off 3 overs, with Staffan Jones taking 2 for 29 off 8. Iestyn Evans (1 for 37) and Arfon Jones (1 for 32) each bowled 3 maiden overs,

As the visitors replied, Paske and Chris Strange at number three were bowled cheaply, but opener Rhydian Harries was in fine fettle, stroking five fours and hoisting a six in making 38 runs.

Gary Williams at four hit five boundaries in his 32 not out, before rain brought proceedings to a halt with Llandysul having made 98 for 3 - which gave them victory.

l Llandysul Seconds completed a double for the club with a six-wicket win over Maesteg Seconds in their division five game at Tir-Dref.

The Teifisiders posted 232 for the loss of four wickets, and then bowled out the visitors for 119 in 38.1 overs.

Opening batsman Bleddyn Morgan carried his bat for a magnificent 124 not out, with 13 fours and a big six, and he was given support from Dafydd Jones who made 42. Carwyn Jones made14, Jack Deal 20 and Carwyn Morgan 15no.

In reply, No3 Aron Bird was top scored for the visitors with 58, with 9 fours, but Jack Deal took 3 for 7 off 8 overs, Osian Thomas 2 for 28 and Carwyn Morgan 2 for 17.
