LLANDYSUL CC notched a three-wicket win over visitors Tata Steel in an entertaining South Wales Cricket Association division one encounter - after the visitors had posted a total of 149 for 5 after 50 overs.

Medium-pacer Iestyn Evans clean bowled opener Phil Taylor for 4 and although Martin Lewis made 32, along with useful knocks from Kelvin Bartle (18), Rohan Herbert (29) and Rhys Owen (24no), the visitors found runs hard to come by.

Evans finished with figures of 1 for 13 from his 10 overs, including 4 maidens, Steffan Jones took 2 for 41, Dafydd Hatley 1 for 24 and Ieuan Paske 1 for 42. Arfon Jones bowled three maidens in his 0 for 18 from 10 overs.

In reply, opener Ieuan Paske (25) and Bleddyn Morgan (12) put on 32 for the first wicket, before Chris Strange at number three stroked six fours and hoisted three sixes in a match-winning half century of 58.

Further down the order, Llewelyn Hughes, batting at six, made 20 as the homesters knocked off the runs for the loss of seven wickets in 43.4 overs.

For the visitors, Matthew Jones returned 3 for 25 from his 10 overs, with wickets also falling to Nathan Ferrell 1 for 36, Kelvin Bartle 1 for 3, and Daniel Melindo 1 for 7 as well as a run out.
