WALES manager Robert Page has named 28 players for his Euro preparation camp in Portugal.

Fifteen players from the Cardiff training camp will stay on for Portugal, and are joined by players who have just finished their respective club seasons.

Daniel James is unavailable due to Manchester United’s involvement in the Europa league final, while Swansea City's Connor Roberts and Ben Cabango will be taking part in the Championship play-off final.

Josh Sheehan, Tom King and Brennan Johnson are also unavailable, after Newport County and Lincoln City made it to the League Two play-off final.

In their absence, young players not expected to feature at Euro 2020, such as Cardiff City's Rubin Colwill and Mark Harris, have been included

But Hal Robson-Kanu, who was one of Wales' stars at Euro 2016, scoring an iconic goal in the 3-1 quarter-final win over Belgium, and Cardiff City midfielder Will Vaulks are the notable absentees.

This training camp will also be an opportunity for the team to prepare for the upcoming friendly matches against France and Albania – and the last opportunity to impress the coaching staff to be included in the final 26 player EURO squad.

The training camp will be taking place in the Algarve region between 24-29 of May. Page will then be announcing his squad for EURO 2020 on Sunday 30 May.

Friendly matches have been arranged against France on 2 June and Albania on 5 June.
