A CARDIGAN town councillor has revealed the continuing problem of dog fouling in the town is driving her to despair.
Cllr Elaine Evans told colleagues the issue was as serious as ever, affected all parts of the community and appeared to be getting worse.
“What can we do?” she asked. “I’m fed up with seeing it everywhere.
“Something has to be done I was walking down The Strand with one of the children and counted six cases of dog fouling from the bathroom centre down to the bottom of St Mary’s Street.
“There doesn’t seem to be any point in putting up signs because some people clearly don’t care.
“You see poo bags in trees and on the way down to the beach and it’s getting worse.
“So what can we do? Is there anyone we can write to? Or bring in on-the-spot fines?”
