A POETRY trail celebrating the work of feted local poet Dic Jones was opened last week.
The circular woodland walk at Hendre, Blaenporth, where the former Archdruid and chaired bard farmed all his life, was the brainchild of Dic’s son Brychan Llyr.
Helped by the backing of Aberporth Community Council and Ceredigion County Council, the trail has been marked with commemorative boards designed by local artist Maxine Thom.
Last week the plaques were unveiled in a wet and windy ceremony at Hendre attended by family members and friends, community councillors plus the leader of Ceredigion County Council Ellen ap Gwynn.
Community council chairman Cllr Anne McCreary said it was important to recognise Dic’s poetic legacy.
“This is something that will be here for future generations,” she said.
A special commemorative booklet has been produced to accompany the trail and is available in local shops for £1.
