The main A487 coastal road has now reopened after being closed for several hours at Synod Inn on Monday evening, 3 May, due to a single vehicle collision, which saw two people 'seriously injured'.

Two people were reported to have been flown by air ambulance to the University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff, following the incident, which involved a white Renault van at around 5.30pm.

A police spokesperson said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for information after a single vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the A487, near Synod Inn, at around 5.30pm on Monday, 3 May, in which the two occupants suffered serious injuries.

“Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage that may assist the investigation to contact Dyfed-Powys Police.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to the A487 at approximately 5.36pm, Monday, 3 May to reports of a road traffic accident. We attended scene with two rapid response vehicles, two emergency ambulances, our Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service plus two Wales Air Ambulances.

"Two patients were taken by air to University Hospital Wales, Cardiff for treatment."
