CARDIGAN Town Council have awarded a plaque of the town seal to four people in recognition of their services to the community.

The plaques were presented by town mayor Cllr Clive Davies in a socially-distanced event at Cardigan Castle.

“It gives me great pleasure to thank in person those receiving this year’s plaques outdoors in fine weather within the castle grounds,” he said. “Congratulations to everyone.”

John Jones and Denise Price were awarded shields for representing the Cardigan Town Band, attending meetings and preparing the music arrangements.

Street cleaner Lee Owen was recognised for his long service, showing pride in his work and commitment in keeping the town spick and span.

And former Tivy-Side reporter Dave Parkinson received his shield for ‘reflecting the mood and activity of the town’.

Each will receive a framed image to go with the plaque.
