AN original print by Aberporth’s very own ‘Banksy’, Peter Taylor, has raised nearly £600 for the village hall restoration fund.

Peter – who has delighted locals during lockdown with his mouse paintings throughout Aberporth – donated an original Christmas painting for the hall’s Heart of the Community fundraiser.

The painting was put on display at the village hardware shop and because of Covid regulations, raffle tickets were sold mainly on line.

Organiser and village hall trustee Kristina Jackson said: “We were overwhelmed by the response. It was the first time we have ever done a virtual raffle and we were delighted with the result.

“Thanks also to Muriel in the hardware shop who helped out by selling paper raffle tickets.”

The winner was Beryl Green and runner-up was Matthew Kieboom who won a mouse print.

The money will go towards the hall’s Heart of the Community fund which is a £1m project to rebuild the ageing village hall.

Kristina added: “Thank you to Peter and to everyone who took part – we will be doing other fundraisers throughout the year so watch this space!”
