AN inquest has recorded an open verdict on a pensioner who went missing from his Cardigan home back in June last year.
Seventy-one-year-old Alan Richard Hurley, from Penparc, Cardigan, was the subject of an extensive search in the Aberporth area after he was reported missing and his car was found parked in Aberporth car park.
Officers made house-to-house inquiries in the Aberporth area and searches were conducted along the coastal path involving the police helicopter, local Coastguard units and Cardigan RNLI crews.
Mr Hurley’s body was sadly found at Rhoslefain beach, Tywyn, in Gwynedd, on June 24 last year.
Ceredigion coroner Peter Brunton recorded an open verdict at the inquest held at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
