ASSAULTING a police officer on Christmas Eve has cost a Cardigan man more than £800.
Kelvin Marc Davies, of Ferwig, Cardigan, pleaded guilty to assaulting the officer by beating him at St Dogmaels on December 24 last year when he appeared at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.
Magistrates fined the 31-year-old £600 and also ordered Davies to pay compensation of £75, along with prosecution costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge.
