A RHYDLEWIS woman has been fined for shoplifting.

Danielle Amy Jones, aged 26, of Rhydlewis, Llandysul pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of cider worth £4.98 from Premier Stores at Newcastle Emlyn on October 29.

She also admitted stealing three bottles of cider and a pasty worth £8.06 from CK’s supermarket on November 4 when she appeared before magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre.

She was fined £40 for each offence and told to pay compensation of £8.04. She was also ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

An arrest warrant issued by the court when Jones failed to attend an earlier hearing was withdrawn while no action was taken for the breach of two previous community orders for shoplifting.

Magistrates will allow the current orders to continue to allow Jones a last chance to engage with the probation service after she indicated she wanted to receive help.
