RESIDENTS in Adpar say their lives are being made a misery by vehicles parking for a neighbouring housing construction site.

People living at Brynderi Close, in Adpar, Newcastle Emlyn, say they are struggling to get to and from their homes due to a string of vehicles parked along the road, making access to the close itself and driveways difficult.

“We have had various issues with the adjoining housing site since work began in the summer and now the estate has been taken over by various tradesmen parking all the way along,” said one of the residents.

“Mothers with babies cannot push their prams through to get to town, the road is full of muck and there is no consideration at all for the people living on the estate.

“You sometimes struggle just to get to your own home.

“We also had problems with noise earlier on and enough is enough.”

A spokesperson for Ceredigion County Council said: “The local planning authority has dealt with a number of issues since construction commenced on site and have communicated with several residents of Brynderi Close in relation to matters raised.

“The council’s public protection team has also investigated complaints of noise associated with the development during June and July 2020.

“The developer worked with the service to reduce the impact of noise from the site, and officers monitored the site on several occasions to ensure agreed noise control measures were implemented.

“There have been no further complaints associated with this development since the beginning of July.

“Unfortunately, if tradesmen are parking on private land then this is considered to be a civil matter. However, if the public highway is being affected then residents are advised to contact the police.”
