A 37-YEAR-OLD man from Swindon has been charged with assaulting a police officer.
Paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service struggled to deal with a drunk man in Shaw Ridge Leisure Park around 3.30pm on Friday.
They called the police for assistance.
The intoxicated man hit one officer in the head.
Police arrested the attacker after he had been treated by paramedics at the scene.
The officer did not suffer any injuries.
Christopher Johnson from Barnfield Close has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and released on unconditional bail.
