A PENCADER motorist who was more than three times the legal drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads for two years.
Steffan Benjamin James Thomas, of Bro-Nantlais, Gwyddgrug, Pencader, was driving a Peugeot 206 on the B4571 between Newcastle Emlyn and Ffostrasol on September 25 when he was caught.
Thomas had 107 microgrammes of alcohol, in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Appearing at Aberystwyth Justice Centre, the 23-year-old pleaded guilty to driving when the proportion of alcohol in his breath exceeded the prescribed limit.
Magistrates banned Thomas from driving for 24 months and fined him £750, along with £85 prosecution costs and a £75 victim surcharge.
