A GROUP of volunteers are 'extremely grateful' after a doctors surgery donated £200 to the cause.

Chandler's Ford Good Neighbours are a non profit organisation that help older people in the community by doing their shopping and taking them to medical appointments.

The group recently paid a visit to Park and St Francis surgery to meet with Dr Simon Chaplin-Rogers, senior partner, and Sue Levesque, business and general practise manager.

During lockdown, the patients and staff created and sold face coverings raising a sum of £200.

Dr. Chaplin-Rogers presented the cheque to the volunteers who said they are "extremely grateful to everyone who helped with the project".

They say the money will be spent purchasing supplies of masks and hand sanitizer that they are using to keep clients and drivers safe.

The volunteers are also currently looking for driver since the majority of volunteers are over 70 and recommended not to drive at the moment.
