A NEWPORT driver who tested positive for three different types of drug has been banned from the roads for two years.
Shivan Bracen Rainbow Lawes-Caminade, of Market Street, Newport, Pembrokeshire, was caught by police while driving an Audi on the A487 at Greatdarkgate, Aberystwyth, on April 12.
Lawes-Caminade tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a derivative of cocaine, with a reading of 1,600 microgrammes per litre of blood – the legal limit being 50 microgrammes.
There was also a positive test for cocaine with a reading of 130 microgrammes per litre of blood, when the legal limit is 10 microgrammes, and for ketamine with a reading of 170 microgrammes per litre of blood. The legal limit is 20 microgrammes.
Lawes-Caminade pleaded guilty at Aberystwyth Justice Centre to three charges of driving when the proportion of a controlled drug exceeded the specified limit.
As well as a 24-month driving ban, magistrates imposed a community order on the 27-year-old requiring 15 days rehabilitation activity and 120 hours unpaid community work to be completed within the next 12 months.
