Dr Rhodri Thomas has joins Penweddig Comprehensive School as its new headteacher after working as deputy head Cardigan Secondary School and also at at Glantaf Welsh Comprehensive School, in Cardiff.

Originally from Carmarthen, he was educated at Bro Myrddin Welsh Comprehensive School and studied Chemistry at Oxford University, before studying for a doctorate degree at Edinburgh

Councillor Catrin Miles, Ceredigion County Council Cabinet Member for Schools, Lifelong Learning and Skills, Support and Intervention, said: “I worked with Dr Rhodri Thomas, as a governor, during his time as Deputy Headteacher at Cardigan High School, and I’m delighted to be able to welcome him back to Ceredigion. I wish him well in his new role at Penweddig.”

Meinir Ebbsworth, Ceredigion County Council corporate lead officer for schools and culture, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dr Rhodri Thomas to Penweddig, and we look forward to continuing to work together.”
