THE headteacher at Newcastle Emlyn School has said he is proud of his pupils and staff following the release of A-level results this week.
Head teacher Hugh Thomas said: “The school is extremely pleased to report another set of excellent A-level results. The consistent success over recent years is a tribute to our hard-working students, the support of parents and the dedication of our excellent staff at Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn.
“A total of 19 per cent of grades were A* or A, with 47 per cent of grades at A*-B and 72 per cent of grades were at A*-C.
“Notable successes included Benjamin Ward (A*, A, A, A), Andreas Ellis-Hedd (A, A, A) and Morgan Mason (A, A, A).
The school is very proud of all the students, nearly all of whom have gained a place in their first-choice university.
“I would like to congratulate all of our students and express my gratitude to the staff for their hard work and to the parents and governing body for their support during a challenging time. We wish all our students every success in the future.”
