CARDIGAN XR (Extinction Rebellion) will be staging a protest in the town on Saturday evening (August 1).
Campaigners are being encouraged to bring wellies and/or toy boats to Cardigan’s Quay Street (old Somerfield) car park at 6pm for a socially distanced, face-covered, rebellion.
A group spokesperson said: “The planet is warming. Sea levels are rising. We are facing mass extinction. We need the climate catastrophe to be the focus of all conversations to bring about the changes we need.
“Please join us. Take action. Bring your wellies, toy boats, banners and placards for a photograph of our empty boots at the far end of the car park with the Teifi behind. And then take them all away at 7pm, leaving nothing but wet footprints.”
