THIS week sees the return of Ceredigion County Council’s development control committee.

A virtual meeting is planned for Wednesday, July 8, the first since the Covid-19 lockdown in March.

Included on the agenda is an application for four homes on land next to a property called Dyffryn in Pontgarreg, which is recommended for refusal by planning officers.

The outline plan is for two affordable units and two market value homes, which may be detached or semi-detached with details to be resolved at the reserved matters stage.

The site is on the road from Pontgarreg to Llangrannog between existing properties, with Dyffryn and a neighbouring property owned by the applicants.

Llangrannog Community Council has objected to the plan, along with four other representations, citing the road layout, need for affordable homes, drainage and accessibility among the concerns.

Local member Cllr Gwyn James had been asked to allow delegated powers to refuse the application but he has declared an interest in it so it will be decided by the committee.
