AN extension to a caravan park – and working farm – near Llanddewi Brefi has been approved by council planners.

Gogoyan Caravan Park, near the river Teifi, will add four touring caravan pitches, two glamping pods and shower block.

Described as a working farm concentrating on cattle and sheep, there are already 12 privately owned static caravans on site.

It has been operational since 1965 with a road dividing the farm from the caravans.

A planning report states that the four caravan pitches will have electric hook ups with space for an awning and parking area.

The two arched glamping pods will be 7.1metres long, 3.2 metres wide and around 3metres at the ridge, with living, kitchen, sleeping and toilet areas.

A new treatment plant and soakaway area is proposed.

In a tourism impact report the applicant states: “Glamping is proving to be a new and exciting business and as an established business within the tourist industry we feel that installing two glamping pods offers visitors a choice of holiday type within the site and is the way forward to expanding the current business.”

There were no objections made by statutory consultees or third parties and permission was granted on June 25 subject to conditions, including holiday occupancy conditions relating to the glamping pods.
