A PENPARC man has been fined £500 and had his driving licence endorsed after admitting being in charge of a vehicle while over the prescribed alcohol limit.

Tomos Alun Toft, aged 21, pleaded guilty to being in charge of a Ford Fiesta at the cattle mart in Newcastle Emlyn on March 21 when he had 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

As well as the £500 fine, magistrates at Aberystwyth Justice Centre ordered Toft to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £50 victim surcharge. Ten penalty points were added to his driving licence.
